Japanese Acupressure (Anma) Anma is based on a 1 500 year old Japanese Acupressure therapy, incorporating amongst others, Shiatsu and remedial techniques. ANMA techniques involve stimulating vital energy points (acupoints) along meridians that run from head to toe along either side of the spine. ANMA is an ancient healing art that uses manipulative techniques, fingers, thumbs, elbows and sometimes heels, to enable deep pressure to be applied on key points on the surface of the skin. When these points are pressed they release muscular tension, promote circulation of blood and ultimately self healing. Because ANMA works on deep tissue it is a most effective method for treating specific tension related ailments and to promote overall well being rather than a therapy for pleasure and/or relaxation. ANMA techniques involve gripping muscles and is therefore carried out without the use of oil. ANMA is also a treatment for the shy as for shorter treatments, the treatment may be carried out whilst the client rests FULLY CLOTHED in a specially designed chair. ANMA can be a particularly effective and powerful treatment in helping to bring about relief from symptoms associated to stiff neck and shoulders, headaches, eye strain, sinus problems, general stress related aches and pains or tense muscles following exercise. When carrying out the treatment in a chair, the massage concentrates on the upper body, scalp, neck, back, shoulders, arms and hands, encompassing over 60 specific stress release points.. Because in 20 minutes, the client leaves feeling relaxed yet alert and invigorated, it is fast becoming a very practical treatment carried out in the workplace. In a corporate situation, Seated Acupressure treatments can be tailored for set time scales from 10 to 30 minutes dependant upon individual or corporate client needs In the clinic environment, longer treatments (60 - 90 minutes) can be carried out on a conventional massage couch. Oils may then be applied at the end of treatment to relax and to aid the elimination of toxins. It is highly recommended that clients increase their fluid intake after acupressure to speed up the recovery process. Deep pressure combined with rocking, kneading, pulsing and other specific Acupressure techniques along meridians encourages muscle relaxation, increases circulation, stimulates elimination, releases tension and relieves pain. ANMA techniques involve stimulating vital energy points (acupoints) along meridians that run from head to toe along either side of the spine. Meridians are associated to all the organs and structures in the body and so applying pressure to specific acupoints can have a therapeutic effect on the corresponding body area/related organ. It has been shown scientifically that acupoints are closely associated to the autonomic nervous system which may explain why during a treatment, the patient experiences pain relief in areas away from the site currently being worked on. Recent research has shown that practitioners may have more success in relieving neck and shoulder pain using these techniques that any other treatment. All of which can be evidenced by the long term contracts which Bromley Health Management have with many local corporate clients. BOOK AN APPOINTMENT! To book an appointment call 0800 093 1178...
