Cut Out Foods to Help Fybromyalgia A small study at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital suggests eliminating certain foods from the diet may help fibromyalgia sufferers. 17 patients agreed to remove certain foods, such as corn, wheat and dairy products. After two weeks, nearly half reported a reduction in pain and 76% reported reductions in other symptoms. Re-introducing the foods led to recurring symptoms such as headache, fatigue and bloating. Research into fibromyalgia has been limited until recently and precise causes and treatments are unknown. Symptoms are varied but include chronic pain, depression and fatigue. 9 out of 10 sufferers are female. This research is not the first time fibromyalgia has been linked to food intolerances. In his book "Fibromyalgia and Muscle Pain", Leon Chaitow states "People with fibromyalgia are more likely than not to have allergies". Lead investigator Dr Joel S. Edman commented, "People don't need to completely change their life, but food may be a contributing factor to their condition".A small study at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital suggests eliminating certain foods from the diet may help fibromyalgia sufferers. 17 patients agreed to remove certain foods, such as corn, wheat and dairy products.
