Natural Defence Against Cancer

Scientists in the U.S. and Japan believe they have found a natural defence against cancer in most animals.

The body produces natural enzymes to reduce toxic chemicals found in food and the environment. Left unchecked, these toxins attack the body's DNA, possibly leading to cancer.

Production of Nrf2 natural enzymes has previously been seen to be boosted by Sulfuraphane, a chemical found in Broccoli.

Researchers hope this evidence will lead to new approaches to the prevention and treatment of cancer.
