These Boots Were Made for Flying An ex-nurse currently studying fashion marketing at the University of Northumbria has designed an outfit which could help prevent Deep Vein Thrombosis, or Economy Class Syndrome. The outfit includes a pair of socks with an in-built air balloon which inflates and deflates whilst being worn, helping to maintain bloodflow during flight.
