Pharmacists Know Their Herbs

According to a report presented to the sixth annual UCLA Research Conference on Ageing, American pharmacists are more knowledgeable on herbalism than doctors.

Researchers quizzed 47 doctors and pharmacists on their knowledge of indications, interactions and effects of some of the most common herbal remedies. The average score was 58%, though pharmacists scored substantially higher at 78% on average.

The study also found that Asian Americans scored higher than whites on average and doctors who graduated between 1998 and 2000 scored higher than their more experienced colleagues.
