Legal Action on DVT Imminent Legal firm Collins Solicitor, Watford, UK have launched legal action against a group of airlines to compensate victims of DVT, or "economy class syndrome" and their families. The firm is representing 30 clients who could receive compensation of up to £500,000 each. The suit claims airlines should have done more to warn passengers of the dangers of Deep Vein Thrombosis over the last 30 years. Last week, an Australian law firm launched similar actions against Dutch airline KLM, Qantas Airways and British Airways. Meanwhile, the Aviation Health Institute for Airlines is calling for warnings to be printed on Airline tickets to warn passengers of the potential hazards of flying. British Airways is believed to be one of the carriers singled out in the UK lawsuit. BA announced last month that it has developed a programme of onboard exercises for its passengers in conjunction with the Body Control Pilate's Group. Lynn Robinson of the BCPG claims "the exercises will help passengers arrive at their destination feeling refreshed and relaxed by ensuring that they sit correctly in their seat, stimulate their circulation and stay mobile".
