Too Little Vitamin C Damages DNA Following recent reports that taking excessive amounts of Vitamin C supplementation is dangerous, a further report last month revealed that deficiencies in Vitamin C could also damage DNA cells. Deficiencies in folic acid, Vitamin B12, Vitamin B6, niacin, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Iron or Zinc could damage DNA in the same way that radiation or chemical poisoning do. The report from the university of California, Berkeley claim that damage caused by low levels of micronutrients could be a major cause of cancer. As many as 1 in 5 Americans could be deficient in any one of the 8 micronutrients at any given time.
