UK Farmer's Ginseng Goldmine

A UK farmer claims he is the only British producer of Ginseng. Simon Tunnard of Bedfordshire began growing the crop seven years ago after hearing it was worth more than its' weight in gold, and after waiting more than 5 years to harvest his first crop, is now seeing the benefits.

Ginseng sells for around £50 per kilogram wholesale and the plant is believed to help boost the immune system, prevent ageing and improve memory.

So, is Mr. Tunnard planning to give up the day job? Apparently not. "We have got a small farm and it is not enough to make a living". Even so, the farmer claims his ginseng crop is better than growing carrots.
