Vitamin E May Reduce Risk of heart Disease Research at the UT Southwestern Medical Centre at Dallas suggests taking Vitamin E supplements may help to reduce the level of proteins associated with heart disease. The researchers were studying the effects of Vitamin E in diabetes patients, because heart disease and stroke are known to be complications in certain forms of diabetes. However, the investigation revealed that Vitamin E may be beneficial for all patients, not just diabetes sufferers. Vitamin E was seen to reduce the blood level of C-reactive Proteins (CRPs) and IL-6 in subjects. High levels of both proteins are often associated with heart disease according to the authors. Vitamin deficiencies may be associated with many common diseases and conditions.
