Health Authorities in West Yorkshire have come up with a "novel" treatment programme for patients suffering from a range of ailments.

Family doctors in Kirklees may refer patients to the "Bibliotherapist" who will scan the local library's database and come up with a book list designed to help the patient recover.

The aim is to find a book which will inspire them to take a more positive outlook on life. As one patient puts it; "I really enjoyed this book because it was about somebody more miserable than I was".
