Fatty Fish Cuts Heart Attack Risk A study at the University of Washington/ Seattle Veterans Affairs Medical Centre suggests older people may benefit from eating at least one portion of fatty fish a week. In a survey of adults with an average age of 72, eating fatty fish was believed to lower the risk of dying from a heart attack by 44%. Tuna, Salmon and Mackerel are all examples of fatty fish while fried fish such as Cod, Catfish and Snapper were not believed to have the same benefits. Fatty fish were believed to be healthier because they are abundant in polyunsaturated fatty acids. Friday, 30 March 2001 |
