Sunbathers Ignore Natures Warning Signs

A survey conducted for the Imperial Cancer Research Fund suggests the British public have an alarming attitude towards sunbathing and skin cancer.

More than seventy percent of Britons agree that sunbathers are risking their health, but a similar number think suntans look healthy, three quarters like to have a tan at some point of the year and nearly 25% prefer an all-year-round tan.

14% would still want a tan even after a skin cancer health scare. According to the Imperial Cancer Research Fund "A suntan shows that the skin is being damaged by too much sunlight and is trying to protect itself...this damage will increase the risk of developing skin cancer".
