Modern Diets No Longer Enough

According to an article in the June issue of the Journal of the American Chiropractic Association, modern diets do not provide us with the nutrients we need and may often be contaminated with heavy metals, pesticides and antibiotics.

Brad Rachman of the Great Smokies Diagnostic Laboratory, US claims "it is necessary to use supplements to provide essential elements to help people cope with stress levels. Just eating a 'healthy diet' may not be enough".

Alan Adams of the Southern California University of Health Sciences believes certain age groups may need to supplement their diets with particular vitamins and minerals.

"For example, elderly people are most commonly deficient in calcium, vitamins D, B12 and folic acid,". Also "women of childbearing age are often deficient in iron".

However, the article warns that individuals should be careful about deciding for themselves which supplements to take.

"The problem is that patients are not sure what to do. They get mixed messages from media, and therefore need guidance from healthcare practitioners".

The BEST health screening system is one tool which helps identify an appropriate individual supplement and dietary programme. For more information, or to see a qualified nutritionist, contact Bromley Health Management.

Thought for the Day:

It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.
- Henry David Thoreau

SO YOU WANT TO STOP SMOKING ONCE AND FOR ALL?

There is no single magic approach to stopping smoking.  It’s a learned behaviour (we’re not born smokers).  There is a major psychological element as well as chemical dependency.  No single formula, system or product will do the job. All they do is make the manufacturers richer.  That’s why so many attempts fail.

Whilst there is no quick, easy way to quit smoking - if you want to find out how you can stop once and for all - call Edith Maskell now on FREEPHONE 0800 093 1178 for a FREE initial consultation.
