Fine Wines and a Good Life Lead to Better Health Researchers at the Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender and Reproduction at Indiana University have been studying the link between wine consumption and good health. Previous studies have suggested that drinking wine could reduce the risk of heart disease, but this study set out to find other factors which might make a difference. A study of young Danish adults found that wine drinkers are smarter, richer and better educated, which could also contribute to them being more healthy. According to Tedd Goldfinger, a cardiologist from Tuczon, Arizona well-off people have better access to healthcare and tend to lead healthier lifestyles and eat better foods. A further study published in the Annals of Behavioural Medicine last month suggested eating healthily may be good for the mind as well as the heart. Researchers at the National Cancer Institute in Maryland found that people who had followed a healthy eating plan for four years were happier with their lives and more confident that eating healthily would lead to long-term health benefits.
