Thank Heaven for Cholesterol

New research reveals that “high cholesterol levels are good for the heart and will help you live longer” has reported in What Doctors Don’t Tell You.

They state that “low cholesterol levels – the ‘ideal’ state we all keep pursuing – is bad for us and can cause fatigue, poor concentration and depression”.

The study goes on to discuss that elderly people with low cholesterol levels were twice as likely to suffer a fatal heart attack as those with high cholesterol levels.  Another study reports that 60% of all heart attack victims have normal cholesterol levels.  Fewer than 5% of people with ‘dangerous’ high cholesterol levels ever have a heart attack.  A leading medical research told the WDDTY team that “people with high cholesterol live the longest”.

If this is true, the report asks “how can it be that medicine has been so badly misled for the past 40 years?”.  American nutritionist Ancel Keys created the high fat/CHD hypothesis in 1957 after he carried out an analysis of food and health in 6 countries.  He found that those countries with the highest fat consumption per capita also had the highest rates of heart disease.

It was based on this “evidence” that medicine recommended that we change our diets and lifestyle.  However, Keys later discovered that his study was incomplete.  When he widened his research to include data from another 16 countries, he found that the fat/CHD connection disappeared.

He then tried to retract his earlier findings but by then the myth had been created and the “gravy” train from the vast medical and food industries were in full swing.

Edith Maskell of Bromley Health Management added “for years the studies have been growing that high cholesterol is not the devil we have been led to believe but the myth goes on.  Doctors tend to continue to do what they’ve always been doing, ie prescribe the statins and encourage low fat diets, which potentially do more harm than good”.

Thought for the Day:

You can't build a reputation on what you are going to do.

SO YOU WANT TO STOP SMOKING ONCE AND FOR ALL?

There is no single magic approach to stopping smoking.  It’s a learned behaviour (we’re not born smokers).  There is a major psychological element as well as chemical dependency.  No single formula, system or product will do the job. All they do is make the manufacturers richer.  That’s why so many attempts fail.

Whilst there is no quick, easy way to quit smoking - if you want to find out how you can stop once and for all - call Edith Maskell now on FREEPHONE 0800 093 1178 for a FREE initial consultation.
