New Homes Can Harbour "Toxic Chemicals"

Studies carried out in Australia and the UK found that chemicals leaking from carpets, floors and paints could be contributing to the high levels of toxic chemicals found in those living in hew homes. Chemicals like formaldehyde (used in construction) and styrene which is given off by new carpets are the main culprits.

Formaldehyde is used in the making of wooden floorboards and furniture and can cause skin irritation and even cancer. Other chemicals of course stem from paints and solvents. Whilst some people might only notice a smell, others may find the smell unpleasant. In others this might cause sickness and headaches.

The build up of chemicals was also put down to the fact that new homes are much less draughty which exacerbated the accumulation of toxins. In the UK the studies showed that one in 20 homes were at least TWICE the limit of Australian homes. Levels in homes less than a year old were also shown to be TWICE as high as those built ten years ago.

The sophisticated technological Health Screening Service provided at Bromley Health Management can test all of these chemicals, effortlessly and painlessly. An immediate print out of the results is provided at the end of all consultations backed up by a full treatment programme, information, support and advice on maintenance and prevention.

Thought for the Day:

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen, nor touched... but are felt in the heart.
- Helen Keller

SO YOU WANT TO STOP SMOKING ONCE AND FOR ALL?

There is no single magic approach to stopping smoking.  It’s a learned behaviour (we’re not born smokers).  There is a major psychological element as well as chemical dependency.  No single formula, system or product will do the job. All they do is make the manufacturers richer.  That’s why so many attempts fail.

Whilst there is no quick, easy way to quit smoking - if you want to find out how you can stop once and for all - call Edith Maskell now on FREEPHONE 0800 093 1178 for a FREE initial consultation.
